14 FREE Songs Download for Friends, Fans, and Family!

Click on the link below to download a zip file containing the 14 songs that I recorded for "John McCoy's Magic Modes Book/MP3 files" project.  It teaches improvisation and composition with the various modes and covers numerous styles including rock, blues, jazz, flamenco, country, southern rock and more.  I (John) composed all of the songs on this project and played guitar(s), bass, drums, various types of percussion, and I used my guitar synthesizer for all other instrumentation:

Here are Some of My Recordings that Survived the 1980's!

(Click on the Link Below to Go To the 1980's Audio Page)

These songs were recorded between 1985-89.  I used an 8 track cassette recorder and would mix down the audio to a Hi-Fi VCR and a bit later to a Mini Disc recorder.  I wrote most of these songs except for Sonata in Am by T. Giordani where I took a manuscript that was arranged for guitar and harpsichord and I added my own string arrangement.  The only other non original was You Got It by Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison.  For the rhythm background tracks I did step sequence recording for drums and then played keyboards or used my Roland guitar synthesizer for the pianos, strings, bass, and other instrumentation.  YES, that's me singing!  Of course I played real guitars on these recordings because I'm the Real McCoy:-)!
